How do I turn off the visibility of an Area light in Reflections ?

I have played around with light linking and in general it is working on showing / not showing the area light on diffuse materials but the area light is still visible in highly specular materials.

Any idea what I am missing here

Any comments appreciated. Thank you

There is a visibility section in the light (emission) "properties" tab, one of which is specular reflection - then refraction, volume, diffuse, etc.

Thank you for the tip.

The emission is gone but the area light is still visible in the specular. I attached a very simple blend file for your reference.

Specular can be both specular reflection and refraction, or one of the two. Which one were you referring to?

In case where the light's visibility options are not sufficient, there is the Object Layer visibility:
- general visibility (slider)
- camera visibility (checkbox)

All the mentioned options with a diffuse only and glass "specular" (refraction) materials on each sphere respectively:
