Hello guys.

How would I go about having 2 sets of preferences - 1 for standard Blender and 1 for Octane Blender?

...because they both point at Roaming > Blender Foundation > Blender > (Folder for Blender Version) > config... and overwrite each other... which I've just done

Is it possible?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure why you would need something like that. Just prepare a scene already set up for Octane and load it when you want to work with Octane. Or use File/New/Octane Default Config. Or the new Set Octane Options addon we made available on this forum.

Great - that will work. Thanks.

Is there an advantage to the addon?

If you're referring to the Set Octane Options addon, its main advantage is that it seamlessly converts render settings from a Cycles or Eevee scene to Octane. This includes adjusting Color Management, creating the appropriate Kernel, and setting up the environment (still limited, it just creates an "Octane World"), making the transition quick and hassle-free.
