Modo 17 vs Octane crashing with v16 scene

Hi everyone,

Are there known issues with the new Modo 17? Or specificly from bringing scenes from older versions?

I had a scene that on PC would not even load, crashing modo every time. Then I tried on Mac, where it loads, but if I try to render animation, it will render 3-5 frames and then crash.
Mind you the scene does load fine and would be able to be rendered with Modo's native renderer.

What I ended up doing is reinstalling Modo 16 and I was back in business, but its really bad to be bombarded about the new version and how it now comes with Octane as a standard, just to find out its super unstable now.
(Oh and yes i deactivated the version that comes preinstalled, also tried with that one, and eventually uninstalled Octane and reinstalled 2023.1.3 with the same result )

In a specific situation involving the opening of anterior project files*
Determining the stability from newly created project files would be more reasonable.

Some trouble-solving-process questions (non-exhaustive):

• Is it retro-compatibility related?
• Have the project files be dissected piece-by-piece for the possibility of a culprit causing the crashes?
• Is it reproducible?
• Does the crash log hold any pertinent information?

There are no known issues that should result in a Crash of Modo17. If it happening on all scenes, or just one? Can you send me a scene that's crashing please? Do you have any other plugins installed in Modo17?
