Hey Paul, just wondering. Is there a way for you to implement names of a certain material to automatically show up when saving textures. Like if I'm saving a material on a prop that is called box. When I saved the material is there a way for the plug-in to automatically incorporate the name box. Into the name when saving. It gets a little tedious when I'm saving materials and store them to retype the name of what they came from.

Same with the frame names when rendering. I like to give the name of the scene incorporated into each frame. Which really is a sop for animating. As of right now I have to use a batch renamer to add a unique name in front of all the frames I would most recently rendered. So basically cannot plug in incorporate the name of the scene into the rendering frame sequence name. Or give us the option to create a custom one?

Thanks,

Great idea.

I will investigate if this can be done when doing the next release of the plugin.

My best guess is that it will be in the next 2-4 weeks.

Hey Paul, just touching bases on this. Was it harder than expected to implement.

Sorry there was a misunderstanding. I meant exporting materials setting directly from the plug-in. You can see in the screenshot. When I export the background material from the ground model. Shouldn't it say something like.

GROUND-Background.poe
Untitled-1.jpg
Also, I see no change with the exporting of animations. Shouldn't there be a box under output folder called output file name. That automatically takes on the name of the poser file(That we can also change)?
So the exported frames will not be just (frame00001) but something like (Walking Animation_frame_00001). Also, I think there should be an _ symbol separating frame from the number sequence.
Untitled-2.jpg
Hope this all makes sense.
Thanks Paul,

My apologies - I confused your feature request with another users FR!
GROUND-Background.poe
Yes, this should be doable.

So the exported frames will not be just (frame00001) but something like (Walking Animation_frame_00001). Also, I think there should be an _ symbol separating frame from the number sequence.
The original thinking on this was that you would create a unique folder name for each animation - meaning that actual filenames are unimportant. I can make it so the filenames are pre-pended with the Poser scene name (and add the '_'). Would that work for you?

Thanks

Yes, that will be perfect.
Thanks

I understand what your original thinking about folder names and file names. But I work in Adobe Premiere. Which I import the frame directly into Premier creating a image sequence to edit from. And I've had issues in the past. Where clients would give me videos or images in different folder structures but have the exact same name. May not seem like a big issue at first glance. But I had issues where Premiere would swap images or videos that have the exact same name. Or if there's an issue and I have to relink videos or images and Adobe Premiere. May not be too much of a headache if you only have a few videos or photos. But when you get to a big project that's majority of it is hundreds of photos. Then it goes from a headache into a migraine. Even though these events were somewhat of a rarity. It was too much of a pain to risk being in that situation again. So I edit my standard of practice, each file or asset will always have a unique name. Which is part of my file structure system.
