When i apply a floatimage ( jpeg) as texture envornment, this render a black and white picture ( the envornment is not colored and render as BW pict. :shock: ) ?
(Before, with older works, i did it many time, and it was colored... ).

Did i miss something ? is it a bug or what ?

Thanks for your help

(gtx470 + nvidia280.26 + octane 2.52 -> it does the same with older version)

...it's because a "floatimage" means a greyscale texture (e.g. for bumpmaps). rgb textures are called just "image" ;)
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

1x i7 2600K @5.0 (Asrock Z77), 16GB, 2x Asus GTX Titan 6GB @1200/3100/6200
2x i7 2600K @4.5 (P8Z68 -V P), 12GB, 1x EVGA GTX 580 3GB @0900/2200/4400

sorry - i think i just misunderstood what you meant, so scratch that :roll:

i did a quick test to try that and connected a floatimage to the enviroment texture input, and got a colored output. nvidia driver version 275.33, octane 2.52. to me it looks like if there were a lot complaints lately, all regarding 280 driver versions... maybe there is something broken with them? what if you try to go back to 275.33? never had any problems with them, so i did'nt see a reason to update...

Thanks for you answer.

OK you where right: "floatimage" is only BW picture, but "image " is colored one...
I was very tired ( just remplaced the mother board during journey and make tests late in the night ;) )

Now it works ( as before ... :D )

Thanks again
