Frame range preventing Octane from loading a render

All bug reports should include the information below, along with a detailed description of the issue and steps to reproduce it.
A. Operating System, including version (i.e. Win 7, OSX 10.11.2, Ubuntu 14.04, etc.)
B. Graphics Card(s) model (i.e. GTX 580 - 3GB, TITAN, etc.)
C. RAM Capacity (i.e. 6 GB)
D. Nvidia driver version (i.e. 7.50, 7.5.22)
E. OctaneRender Standalone version, if installed (i.e. 2.24.2, 2.23, etc.)
F. OctaneRender plugin version (i.e. v2.25 - 2.21)
G. Host application version, including build number if available (i.e. 3ds Max 2016 Build 18.0)
H. A detailed description of the issue and steps to reproduce it (Include Screenshots or video capture), as well as an example scene if applicable.
I. Copies of the Octane Log window and Console window outputs (full text attached as a file to your post is recommended).


Please note that reports of issues inside existing threads will be ignored/removed, and reports may be closed if the reporter does not respond to subsequent queries in the thread.

Depending on the render settings for what frames to render, the final render via Picture Viewer gets stuck on Preparing... for upward of 10 minutes, actually never succeeded once.
I have a 1000 frame animation, and when I set the frame range settings to:

Manual, From 00:33:14, To 00:37:01
Project Settings: Time Min: 00:00:00, Time Max: 00:42:00

the render does not even start in picture viewer, but live viewer works. However, instead of changing the frame range, by changing the project settings, the scene loads in 9 seconds:

Manual, From 00:33:14, To 00:37:01 (this does not matter, All Frames works well)
Project Settings: Time Min: 00:33:14, Time Max: 00:37:01

So the issue is it doesn't even start to export to Octane if the manual frame range is too far from the start and end time of the project settings.

I. Octane log does not open when I click the button in the live viewer whilst the picture viewer is open, console window is empty as octane doesn't even attempt to start exporting:

Does it work if you switch render engine to standard?

When you render in c4d it needs to preroll. ie if you are rendering from 00:33:00 then c4d will play every frame from the start, until it reaches the first frame, then rendering will begin. If you have a heavy scene with physics etc then it may take 10-20 minutes before any render engine would start rendering.
