Well, the topic says it all really.
"Overwrite kernel settings" is unchecked.
Do I have to check some other setting?

Hi,
instead of using the C4D Foreground object, you can use the AOV group tab to add an image on top of your Beauty pass: ciao,

Hi Bepeg,
thanks for the answer.
My idea was to "block" parts of the image I don't need by using a simple black Tiff with transparent parts.
The goal was to save render time, not to compose an image on top of the beauty pass.
In the Live Viewer it works as intended, but not in the Picture Viewer?

Marc

Hi Marc,
mmm, I don't think it is an efficient solution, have you tried with Film region instead? ciao,

Hi Bepeg,
I know about film region and I use it. But with the foreground object I have freeform.
And as I said, it works in Live Viewer, but not in the Picture Viewer:

It's not that important, I was just wondering why it would work in the LV and not in the PV.

Marc

Looks like we haven't added the support for foreground in to final frames.

Ok, thanks Bepeg and Aoktar, it's really not important - more of a nice to have once every 5 years.

I've done this the old fashioned way with success; i.e. a matte black cutout card positioned right in front of the camera lens. It might seem kind of silly, but with Adaptive Sampling it works quite well for speeding up a render when Render Region isn't precise/complex enough. You can even animate its shape and position.
