RTX 4070 not rendering SOLVED

Hi
I just got a new PC and graphics card (RTX 4070).
Octane is installed in daz studio but when opening the render window, nothing is loading. I also get an error log "02:16:58.960: Render engine failure occured! (WARNING)"
When looking at the device settings the Cuda cores show "?"


Also the download button for my standalone version is greyed out. I can no longer download the standalone?

Hi Elene,
The Octane Prime license does not allow access to the Standalone version.
Please follow as below:
1 Updates windows 10/11 to latest build available.
2 Unistall the Nvidia drivers using Nvidia unistaller drivers tool
https://developer.nvidia.com/cleanup-tool
3 install latest Nvidia "studio driver" available, not "game ready".
https://www.nvidia.com/it-it/drivers/results/209374/
Please don't install GeForce Experience and make a clean installation.

Thanks for the info,

i followed all steps, but still the same issue. The error changed though to:
14:15:02.549: Render engine failure occured! (WARNING)

Anything else I can do?

Try and go to Nvidia site and install studio drivers. I dont know if your pc was pre assembled and installed it can be the a driver problem

I ran the cleanup tool and installed the "studio driver", same error
formatted my drive and did clean windows 11 install, it seems to automatically install nvidea drivers, so ran the cleanup tool again and installed the "studio driver", but again same error

IRay works fine with the 4070 and all other programs using it too.

I'm still using version 4 of the plugin, does that matter?

Well, 4.04.0.44 to be exact...

you really need to update to the latest daz and latest plugin version there has been tons of bug fixes and improvements

latest version is 2022.1.1 - 306 your plugin must be really old and probably does not even support 4000 series

That version worked fine with the RTX 2070 up to last week.
Since version 4 they also switched to a subscription model. 240€/year is too much for my casual use. It seems it is still the only option. Would be great if they had a cheaper version for just one plugin.
