I hate this subject so much because it seems like everything is working well for a while and after months/years I notice that something is off and I cannot figure out why that's the case. Anyway I noticed that placing a linear srgb render into a linear workflow in after effects does not result in the same image (slightly brighter with a higher gamma). after testing different options and playing around both inside octane and after effects I noticed that changing the response in octane imager from srgb (which is a default one) to gamma 2.2 results in an image looking very similar to what's in ae and the srgb response looks closer to gamma 1.8 if anything. the thing is from what I gathered you can't have a response be rendered in exrs so now I'm lost and not sure if that slightly brighter look was always the case. adjusting gamma in after effects does bring it closer to what's visible in the live/picture viewer but I don't think it's 100% the same. I'm wondering what can I do to have that default srgb response be what I see in AE without any additional gamma changes. or am I supposed to work on gamma 2.2 from the beginning if I want the linear workflow in after effects?

for some additional info working on Windows and the render is in exr (octane) 32bit
