It's always been this way.john_otoy wrote:Is this happening in a specific versions of Octane Standalone, or all builds?
If you can provide a bit more detail, I'll pass it on.
I just thought octane wasn't completely compatible with it.
But I read in another Old Post someone had the same issue.

I use a 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse Enterprise.john_otoy wrote:Is this happening in a specific versions of Octane Standalone, or all builds?

It will not rotate the camera on the X,Y, or Z axis.
Zooming and Panning is fine.

what user is referring there I would guess..is not if the mouse is working or not in OctaneRender, but whether it works as we expect and that's more the way You navigate in OctaneRender standalone.
For instance in 3dsMax, SU.. whatever CAD application You can take and object and rotate it as You like on any axis You want, You can pan around at the same time and zoom - once You get used to that and jump in OR it's far from the same experience, as OR acts as if there is a targeted camera..- everything You do with the mouse is slow'ish and not as You expect from other CAD apps.
so the question is not really if it works or not, but how it works. Just wanted to clear the point here. And as user pointed it has been like this for a long time and the reason why it using 3d mouse in OR is not that good of an experience, even if technically speaking it "works".

Well I have a space pilot enterprise and I can only move Left, right, up, down and zoom in and zoom out but no rotating.john_otoy wrote:One of the devs got back to me and said:We have a compact space mouse (the puck shaped one). We tried it here on a workstation and all 6 axes work.
Its functioning fine with other applications and does as expected but not in octane.

Thank you for clarifying that.glimpse wrote:what user is referring there I would guess..is not if the mouse is working or not in OctaneRender, but whether it works as we expect and that's more the way You navigate in OctaneRender standalone.

It is hard to say from here why the tilting axes don’t work. Do you have any drivers or utility software installed? Maybe it has settings to enable or disable certain movement axes for certain applications.spartan00j wrote:So will I get any help with this?
