Hi
Do you know how can I make renderd image use octane image filters?
Specifically highlight compression is not applied to the saved image and same filter in ae has different results...
Thanks
How to save image filters with exr render

Hi, long story short, an EXR output from the renderer is universally and intentionally excluding nearly all options from the Camera Imager. The output is basically meant to be linearly floating-point encoded, when choosing EXR. It will have to be an other file format, such as JPG or TIFF, for the Camera Imagers options to be baked-in. However, these formats have limitations and require a different post-pipeline.
This will help:
OctaneRender® “Color Management”
Offline Rendering Digital Imaging 101 (“Survival Kit”)
Rendering Transform

No way around it? I really suffer the linear result and look is done using imager options. any thing like going to vops level of RenderTarget node?

Hi Juanjojuanjgon wrote:What happens if you enable the "Force tone mapping" option in the Octane ROP, Output tab?

Thanks for getting back to me, this is exactly the feature that I was assuming works, but it doesn't.
I attached the test

Not recommended in an EXR "linear based workflow" context. Mentioned here (for more information).juanjgon wrote:What happens if you enable the "Force tone mapping" option in the Octane ROP, Output tab?

Im using octane 2021.1.6.0 (sep 14 2022)juanjgon wrote:Sorry, I'm not sure to understand the problem from your scene. What Octane version are you using and what OCIO config?
Thanks,

without OCIO config
Just need Highlight compression be backed to render as what we see in ipr, In my test scene its not like that.

Universally not possible with EXR as the chosen format. Baking Camera Imager's options should occur when using "integer"/"web-ready" file formats (e.g. TIFF, JPG).modjtaba wrote:Im using octane 2021.1.6.0 (sep 14 2022)juanjgon wrote:Sorry, I'm not sure to understand the problem from your scene.
