Hello,
i've just installed a new RTX 4090 on my computer and
oticed that when rendering with the Lightwave Plgin, it doesn't use more than 60 % of the capacity of the card.
The same thing occurs with the C4D Plugin.
When using Octane Standalone, the card is used at 98 %
same whith the Octane Bench : 98 % of computing load
Is there something i've missed with the settings ? It's the first time
I have this issue, my cards always were at 95/100 % load before.
Octane standalone and plugin version : 2021.1.7 (last release)
Nviva Driver : Studio 528.02
Thanks a lot
Olivier

Have you set GPU settings to High (in octane settings in LW)?

Ok, just to confirm here 4090 works just fine at 100% (if set to High usage) in LW 2021.1.7 plugin.
I got mine 4090 few days ago and all good in Lw.
Thanks for updated kernel/dll Juan..

Hi Lewis,
thanks for your feedback,
everything is set to high but the card won't go
further 70 %.
After a few tests, i noticed that on Standalone it has the same behaviour
on recent demo scenes, when using Photon tracing.
Same thing occurs on Cinema 4D.
I didn't tried it on blender yet.
When googling it, it appears some games have the same problem.
I'll check if there's an update for the studio driver,
what driver are you using ?
Thanks again

You are right, after more tests i see it on some scenes also, lower GPU usage, BUT also for my 3090s not just 4090 so it might be driver thing (i updated to latest one that fixed "Discord" issues).
Maybe try to go back one or two driver versions ?

Hi, I confirm the same behavior with my 4090.
Work Station : MB ASUS X299-Pro/SE - Intel i9 7980XE (2,6ghz 18 cores / 36 threads) - Ram 64GB - RTX4090 + RTX3090 - Win10 64
NET RENDER : MB ASUS P9X79 - Intel i7 - Ram 16GB - Two RTX 3080 TI - Win 10 64
NET RENDER : MB ASUS P9X79 - Intel i7 - Ram 16GB - Two RTX 3080 TI - Win 10 64
Something is very weird here, IF i open older scenes made with older Octane and mostly interiors (like small rooms) then it's fine all GPUs usage locks at 98-99%, BUT if i work with BIG open space (arch-viz larege areas) my GPU usage is 50-60-70%.
Maybe there is precision issue in new drivers ? It's not just 4090 as I mentioned, I see the same in my 3090 GPU also...
EDIT: another funny thing is that When using IPR GPUs usage is ok, full 99% but once I hit F9 or F10 it's back to slower 60-78% GPU usage.
Juan can you please check that Priority options (low/med/high) in Octane are still working correct in the code?

Can you please make a standalone scene that reproduces this, so Juan can see it and send to core Otoy DEVs ?CANDITO wrote:Hi Lewis,
