Hi,

I have been having a frustrating time with CUDA errors running the latest version of the Octane C4d plugin (2022.1)

I have a RTX 3090 w/ 32gb of RAM/ 24gb of VRAM / AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor running Windows 10.

I have no issue running the first 20-30 frames of my animations in a scene but it'll randomly decide to crash mid-render with--

"VRAM used/free/max:0Kb/24Gb/24Gb Out-of-core used:0Kb RAM used:9.932Gb total:31.923Gb OpenGL free/total:0/0
FumeFx library initialisation error!"

"OptiX error for device 0: [ERROR] Error synching on OptixPipeline event (CUDA error string: an illegal memory access was encountered, CUDA error code: 700)
Error destroying OptixPipeline event (CUDA error string: an illegal memory access was encountered, CUDA error code: 700)
OptiX API error for device 0: CUDA error
CUDA error 700 on device 0: an illegal memory access was encountered"

"FRAME:36 fps:30
MB:0/0 ST/MOV:0/4 Nodes:37 Tris:4.069m DispTris:0 Hairs:21k Meshes:4
Textures Grey8/16:0/0 Rgb32/64:1/5
VRAM used/free/max:3.368Gb/14.769Gb/24Gb Out-of-core used:0Kb RAM used:19.28Gb total:31.923Gb OpenGL free/total:0/0
OptiX error for device 0: [ERROR] Error recording wait on outstanding request event ( T = 96, H = 916 ) (CUDA error string: an illegal memory access was encountered, CUDA error code: 700)
Failed to allocate internal launch buffer
OptiX API error for device 0: CUDA error
device 0: path tracing kernel failed
Check geometry subdivisons.
Picture viewer uses 'Render' subdivisions. But Live Viewer uses 'Editor' subdivision values.
Try to decrease 'render/editor' subdivison values.
CUDA error 700 on device 0: an illegal memory access was encountered
-> failed to deallocate device memory
CUDA error 700 on device 0: an illegal memory access was encountered
-> could not get memory info
CUDA error 700 on device 0: an illegal memory access was encountered
-> failed to deallocate device memory"

And so on...

I have dug in the depths of these forums for similar issues with previous version of Octane & C4D and I have tried just about every possible solution with no luck.

I have done clean re-install's of the latest NVIDIA drivers, changed my TdrDelay to 60, reinstalled the octane c4d plugin, made sure my c4d is up to date as well as making sure I have the latest Windows 10 update installed and nothing has solved my problem.

&& for context I have had this set-up for 2 months so it's fairly new hardware.

The issue is that this is happening with multiple project files and not just one. The current scene I am trying to render out is very simple with no dynamic functions happening besides camera movement.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated !! This has definitely affected my deadlines for work...

I have attached my octane log as well.

Hi,
ok, let's try with a more detailed log.

Please copy the attached “octane_log_flags.txt” into ../plugins/c4doctane directory:

Then please, open the scene, then go to c4doctane Settings/Log Output tab, and enable all the Log option checkboxes.
Then, load the scene in Live View, then in Picture Viewer until crash, then reopen c4d, navigate to c4doctane Settings/Log Output tab, press the Generate log report button, and share the resulting octanelog_report.zip file, thanks.

Please, also download and run GPU-Z:

And share a screenshot from the Graphics Card tab, for all the available Nvidia GPUs, thanks:

Ok, please try to perform a clean installation of 522.30 Nvidia Studio driver:

To perform a clean installation, please follow these steps:

After reboot, try with the same scene and report back, thanks.

Did as you said and I am still running into the same issue :(

I even enabled Debug Mode in my NVIDIA Control Panel.

I attached the log below.
