Im not seeing this posted anywhere yet.. (latest build: Houdini 19.5.403, Octane 2022.1.0.6, Ubuntu 22.04, Dual RTX 3090, AMD threadripper x64, 256GB ram, driver: 525.78.01).
I can run octane fine in the GUI, mplay, qt5 and octane viewer all work as expected. When I try to write a frame to disk however, the render begins, drops the empty frame on disk and then fails stating that octane can not write the multilayer EXR
thanks,
Matt

when i switch to a PNG I now get the error "All the GPUs are disabled, check the GPU settings"... rendering via IPR is working as expected.
Weird! I can't reproduce this problem here, and I don't have any other reports about a problem like that. Can you please check if you have configured the right plugin build for your Houdini version? Also, can you please enable the Octane debug log file in the plugin options panel and share the log that you get after rendering the scene to disk?
Thanks,
-Juanjo

It looks like Mplay is the issue. When I turn off render to mplay it renders. I also noticed that when I try to snapshot to Mplay from the octane window it locks up.
Is there an alternative progress window that will allow me to view the render as it cooks?
thanks
