I suspect that Octane for Blender has issues with Cylindrical, Spherical and Box Projection. The texture isn't following top to bottom, left to right direction with default node. You have to adjust projection node rotation. I believe that the primitives used to project to UV in Blender aren't translated correctly to Octane, since we have a difference between coordinate systems.
Spherical Projection
Here is what you get by default with Spherical projection.


Once you adjust the projection primitive rotation, then you get the proper project mapping.



I am assuming that the cut should be hidden “behind” the primitive.


Cylindrical Projection
Cylindrical projection follows the same issue.

Box Projection
Exactly the same story is with the box projection.

By default the texture flow isn't correct. You need to adjust the primitive rotation.
