Hi Guys,

I had a project that died right after orbx export and the backup file unfortunately was much older. ORBX is fine when opened in Standalone. I have to continue the work from where the file died, so I'm wondering, is there a way to extract the contents of the ORBX so I can use it in Cinema or is this a one way street when exporting to ?

Thanks for your time,
Silan

It's possible in theory, in the way that if you google translate a book to another language and then back again it might sort of work, but be missing some pieces. We are going to support C4D inside an ORBX at some point now that we have the library from Maxon to do this.

Sorry to hear about the c4d corrupted scene, please have a look at here:

if it doesn't work, if you open the .orbx file in Standalone, you can go to File/Unpack package, to create an Assets folder with geometry nodes and textures used by the orbx scene.
You can save the materials from Standalone to LocalDB, then you should be able to import the Alembic geometry node in c4d, import the materials from LocalDB, and assign them back to geometry.

Hope it helps.

ciao,
Beppe
