So ive started a 3d course with Arthur Whitehead who teaches Octane and people on there are talking about using M1 Macs. Im talking to one guy who says his M1 MacBook Pro Max just keeps crashing in Live Viewer and he is not sure what the problem is, maybe materials but he has to constantly keep saving. This is mental for the M1's as they are rock solid as a rule.

Is anyone on here using an M1 Mac successfully, please post???

Bepee - what do you think?

Hi,
about M1, you need to use native OctaneX 2022.1-XB3-R4, with Rosetta option disabled:
https://render.otoy.com/plugindownloads ... R4_OSX.zip

This version is pretty stable, especially compared with OctaneX PR14 + Rosetta.

But there is a known issue with C4D Shaders, so, before loading the scene in Live View, please make sure that there are not any C4D Shader in your materials, in particular Gradient and Noise shaders.
You can replace the C4D Gradient shader with the new Octane Gradient Generator node:

And the C4D Noise shader with new Octane Noise4D node:

If not enough, please write to help at otoy dot com asking for Beppe, in this way i can investigate more deeply.

ciao,
Beppe
