Probelm: Right now, working with SBSAR files with Octane is time consuming, and requires a lot of manual work.
Solution: I'd love a node that links to an SBSAR file on disk. This node would contain all the exposed parameters in the SBSAR (texture size, seed, color variations, etc.), and then have outputs for each available channel that could then pipe into the appropriate channels in a Universal Material. This type of system would allow for further modification of each channel if needed using Octane's mixing and modifying nodes.
Building this into Octane's core could allow all the DCCs to take advantage of SBSARs as well.
Some sort of wizard that created one or more Universal Materials with the SBSAR nodes hooked up to all the proper channels in the corresponding material would be a bonus, and make auditioning several SBSAR files quick and easy.
Thanks!
