Hello
I'm using multilayer exr to output all my passes. Just noticed that the denoise beauty pass color space is totally wrong compared with the beauty pass. It's way darker and over saturated with some blue dominant.
Using latest stable modo plugin version (OctaneRender_for_Modo15_2021_1_5_186)

Anyway to fix that BEFORE rendering?

And when It's too late, after rendering, does anyone found the proper settings to get the same image than the non denoised pass? Trying with hue/ saturation and exposure but it's not quite there yet...
(I'm dealing with animations so rendering everything out again is out of question now.)

Thank you

Hi,

"Way darker and saturated" is often referring to a non-conformed scene-linear source.
Could you share both as a screenshot, if possible?

Yes, a screenshot would help. It sounds like a color space or OCIO issue, so can you share those settings please?

Thanks

Tried the direct link to the image but the forum stopped the conection to the link so, here It is online.

Same rendering , same settings, only different passes, beauty and beauty denoised. I tried different gama (srgb, built in camera presets ) but still, same difference between the two renders.

AND screen shots of the settings, tried both srgb and some of the built in presets... there is a definite shift in color and luminosity between the beauty and the denoised beauty.

I could not reproduce the issue. Are you able to send me the scene please? Also, what are your Modo->Scene OCIO Config and Colorspace settings? What is you System->Preference->Rendering->OCIO and Color Space settings?

Thanks

Also - if you export the scene to ORBX and render in Octane Standalone, do you see the same issue happening?

Thanks

Curious to know the answers from Paul's questions.

• The "neutral" and "cyan-ish" screenshot are based on the same settings? I got confused by the settings screenshot.
• Does the issue occur without the denoiser?
• Is the export file format OpenEXR?

I'm going to record a detailed video shortly, I have to fix, complete and send the anim asap.
But yes Esksa , all the settings are the same when I render as multilayer 16 bits exr, the beauty looks good and the denoied beauty looks totally off.
COuld It be the ioerx plugin I use in AfterEffects? I could send you one frame multilayer exr just for you to test ...

is it possible that you rendered some frames and added or removed one AOV/Layer and rendered or rerendered the other frames? The Extractor plugin can not handle this scenario
