I have recently upgraded from 4.05 to the latest subscription version 2021.1.4-(R4)
I have opened up an old job to render out a new copy of a bottle visual I did previously and the specular material acts completely differently.
This is annoying as I want to do some amends and the material seems to act completely differently
There is no Post work PS other than applying the mask - all colour work correct 'in camera'
Is it the material or the lighting that has been change and is there a simple fix?
It is lit with a HDRI file and a single octane light
I have tried to adjust and it is not just a matter of changing the transmission.
It should be a 5 minute job but this complicates things trying to match
Do I need to reinstall 4.05 just for this?

There are too much changes since 4.05. Hard to say what's the source of differences. But we added color management for textures. Check is it "Linear sRGB+legacy gamma" in imagetextures. Also change "priority" parameter for glass and liquid materials. It's under common section.
