Hello! First forgive me for my awful english. I recently discovered the world of Cinema 4D, I want to install the "Octane X" and the plugin for C4D but I wanted to make sure it works with the Mac I want to buy for that. I read the specs but I'm really lost.
It’s a macbook pro 2019, 16GO RAM, Radeon Pro 555X / Intel UHD Graphics 630 with macOS Monterey. Can it work?
Thank you so much!!!
Mac compatibility
Hi and welcome
About the specific Mac, the support depends from the GPUs and macOS installed.
AMD 555X is a Polaris GPU, so it is supported only under macOS 11 Big Sur.
Unfortunately Apple Metal driver in Monterey does not support anymore AMD Polaris or previous GPU models, and internal Intel GPUs.
For macOS Monterey, you need a Vega, Navi Big Navi AMD GPU, or Apple Silicon M1.
But in future, only Apple Silicon GPUs will be supported.
ciao,
Beppe

Do you mean that AMD NAVI 21 won't be supported by Octane X anymore?bepeg4d wrote:Hi and welcome![]()
