Add a cube
Optically zoom out to a wider FOV (eg hold down the 2 key on your keyboard, then right click and drag the mouse to widen the FOV)
Add an octane camera
Enable the camera

Bug: The FOV switches back to a 35mm default instead of inheriting your current editor camera's focal length.

Affects all versions of octane in c4d since the dawn of time.

Why it's a bug? There's not a rule to do what C4D does. And It has not been implemented for doing this EVER or NEVER.

Adding a c4d camera uses the current position, rotation and focal length in all render engines. Only Octane uses the position and rotation, but ignores the focal length.

I mean, either you think we DO want to copy our current view into a new camera and it should copy all the settings so that it looks the same, or you DONT think we want to clone the current view and it should set the camera to 0, 0, 0 with default settings.

The fact that the octane camera button has failed to fully copy the current view settings for a decade doesn't make it not a bug, it just makes it an old bug.

Call it a feature request if it makes you happy

BUG is that something that's available but not working wrong. It's not ever added feature. Calling that is as a request better.
