Hello, I have been tasked with looking at GPU solutions for a company I have been working for.
We utilize Vray in a CPU render farm and have used Redshift here and there for short/small gigs.
I have been assigned to look at Octane and other GPU unbiased render engines as a solution for quicker and nicer render solutions.
If Octane can fill this gap we would deploy it in a few departments at our company, meaning multiple licenses purchased.
The only issue is that I can't get the demo running on my Maya 2020.4 build at the moment.
I think the download cudnn_8_0_4 is going to the wrong folder or some other error. At the moment when Maya starts it can't load the plugin at all.
We just finished work for a very large gig with Vray for McLaren and would be deploying Otoy in a similar fashion if it can address our needs to shore up the lookdev and render times.
Hoping to move to a GPU solution vs CPU.
Thanks for any info in advance.
CaseyBenn.

Just to update this from a few days ago. I went ahead and purchased Octane and it crashes on render start.
I sent a desktop recording to the help@otoy email..

Hi,
about demo and cuDNN library, please try to manually download the cuDNN library from the following link:
https://render.otoy.com/downloads/ef/08 ... _4_win.zip
Then navigate to C:\Users\Your User name\AppData\Local\OctaneRender, create the thirdparty directory, and copy in in it the 8.04 cuDNN library unzipped folder.

ciao,
Beppe
