Hey all.

I understand octane fairly well when it comes to something as basic as building scenes in c4d but once I start using instances and mograph, it all comes to a halt. I read the manual but still cant seem to do something like the following.

This first picture shows a simple cloner that has TWO fields as spheres.
If I'm satisfied by having both fields affect the clones as the same color than this is good and successful

However, if I want one field to color the clones blue to white for instance and the other field to color the clones green to white then it doesn't work

How would you go about making the second image have the same blue to white colors for one field, and green to white for the other field?

Also, is octane suited for mograph in c4d without strange workarounds or should i use c4d vanilla renderers with their mograph tools so they work as expected?

Here is another screen shot.

I can get really controllable results as seen in the screen shot. Notice how i can control the gradient on the edge with different colors.

The problem comes in when I want the left field to be a different color than the right.

Any idea how to do this with the left and right fields different colors?

Hi,
the key with MoGraph + Fields is to use the Instance Color node, in Source/Particles mode:
