Hi,
I'm trialing the standalone 2021 version of Octane Standalone to see if it is a good fit for my project.
I've had some teething problems getting an ORBX export (from Unreal Engine) to work in the standalone version.
The scene renderes fine with the Octane for Unreal plugin but I'm looking to see if I can make any speed gains by using standalone.
A couple of key points first.
- I have an up to date Nvidia studio driver (clean install)
- I have tested my 3080 GPU with an octane bench project and it all works fine.
When I load the ORBX and click on the render target, the geometry starts loading and caching but then the GPU fails. Sampling doesnt start.
and the error log is as follows:
OctaneRender Demo 2021.1 (11000014)
Failed to queue async message
Failed to queue async message
CUDA error 2 on device 0: out of memory
-> failed to allocate device memory
device 0: disabling RTX acceleration as mesh data cannot be placed into VRAM
CUDA error 2 on device 0: out of memory
-> failed to allocate device memory
Can anybody help? It seems odd that I wouldn't have enough VRAM when the scene works fine in Octane for Unreal.
Octane Demo - GPU failed
