Hey there
Hard pressed by a deadline so was going the ORBX / RNDR route, but no matter what I try I keep getting the dialogue I attached below. Ive exported ORBX's before in the past without a hitch, so i'm unfamiliar with it not working.
I select Export > Animated Package (orbx) > Select Save Location. It starts off as expected, goes through all 450 frames (takes about an hour) and on the final frame I get "Export Error!"
In the Octane log for frame 1 it says "node topology changed between time samples. currently there is no way to store this information in an Octane scene. failed to export frame with geometry exporter of file"
Then for every frame after that it says "failed to export time sample because the scene export either hasn't started yet or has failed"
What does this mean, and how can I fix this?

EDIT: Doing more digging and im questioning if it could be that I have animated alembics in my scene....how does ORBX handle alembics?

Just came across this. Maybe you could maybe try exporting from the commandline? https://dinomuhic.com/orbx-commandline-export
I`m trying RNDR as we speak, orbx file about 1.5GB, simple scene, 120 frames. orbx out of Standalone, no problems so far, satisfied for sure.

It's mostly specific to exporter and it's CORE based. Not easy to estimate without checking your scene. It maybe about unsupported geometry data. Better to talk with Otoy team.

Thanks for a super quick reply Aoktar! But just confirming, animated Alembics are compatible with ORBX? I found this thread from a while back which is the reason I was questioning it...aoktar wrote:It's mostly specific to exporter and it's CORE based. Not easy to estimate without checking your scene. Hey everyone / aoktar
I'm having the same problem as Aaron. I was first having a problem with the ORBX not appearing after attempting to export in Houdini, and I posted about it over there.
I thought if I import everything into C4D I would be fine but I'm getting the exact same errors.
Warm regards

Here's a link to the c4d project, and here's the two alembic - alembic2."node topology changed between time samples. currently there is no way to store this information in an Octane scene.
