Hi Jim,

Thanks for the update, how it works "Implemented nParticles support with Octane geometry primitives." I have particle but doesn't render need any particular settings to make work?

also quick question will be available nodes for "Scatter on surface" or "Scatter in volume" aswell to add octane meshs "Geometric primitive"? I guess via Orbx proxy?

Best,
Jo

Hi Jo,

Thanks for the post.
Please try assigning Octane material to nParticle and see if it works!
Yeah, the "Scatter on surface" or "Scatter in volume" works via ORBX proxy but Jim will look into implementing it in future releases.

cheers
Kind Regards

Hi Jo,

Great to hear it's working now! :D
Btw, we tried with Maya 2018.8 update, and seems to be working fine.
Would it be possible to share your scene?

cheers

Hi Houston,

Thanks for the post!

We are unable to replicate this on our workstation!
Would you please check if the OctanePlugin.mll file is present?

There may be some dynamic dependency library files that are required by the Octane library are missing.
Please try enabling Xgen plugin even though it is not used and let us know how it goes!

cheers
Kind Regards

Just installing, enabling is not necessary. Most likely there are some dependency libraries (required by Octane) lost in your installation of Maya 2022, like for example XGen libs.
