setting Render Region

is there a quicker way to do this (i'm currently using Film Settings and trial and error to get the region in the right place)?

the standard way is to draw a marquee and then start a region render from the AC render window but Octane doesn't seem to recognise the marquee?

You can use the Render Region toggle button (on the Rendering tab of the plugin) to do this.
