Hi!
I'm running Octane X on OS X 11.2. Trying to import from modo 15.
Geometry works. I found a workaround to get camera generals (camera exploder), but can't get materials right.
FBX does import some values but no image file ("File load error. Could not load "Users/........./imagefile.png:rgba").
I have tried export FBX as 2010 to 2018 format, no luck; ABC has nothing but a white, flat material; OBJ same, white base material.
Imported file on Blander and image maps do load.
Any clues?
Thanks in advance
Valerio
Can't import material (FBX, ABC, OBJ)

Hi Valerio,
sorry, I’m not used to use FBX with Standalone, but please go to OctaneX menu, Preferences/Geometry Import/OBJ: There are some options for materials and textures, and you can also correct the .mtl file that come with .obj with a word processor, if necessary.
Alembic doesn’t have options for exporting materials, only polygon selections.
Happy Mac GPU rendering,

Thank you for your answer, but no luck yet.
Checked preferences and everything seems ok, OBJ does import geometry but materials come all white, no values nor images. Also, for OBJ I don't get the dialog stating issues, it just imports, no difference between shaders, all the same and trace of where image maps where used (no nodes for bump for example).
I'm not used to alembic but is good to know it handles only polygons, so thanks for that info!
