Guide to new AOV system?

Hi,

I'm coming back to Octane after using a different engine for a few months for a specific project and I'm having trouble getting the new AOV system to work like the previous one. I'm finding it very confusing as well and not getting the same results in the live viewer as I'm getting in the picture viewer and final render and the manual hasn't been updated to reflect the changes in the AOV system.

is there a handy guide somewhere where I can get myself up to speed with the new system?

the documentation is on the go, could you share an example scene or some screenshots, to better understand the issue you are having?
