Could anyone please tell me why I can't see nodes for selected objects in the Node Editor?

As shown in the screenshot, only World nodes appear.

The objects' Octane Materials look fine in the render, but I can't see or edit them in the editor. (The selected Objects are converted to mesh from curves, if that makes a difference...)

Hey it’s been a while since I used an older version of Blender like that and I no longer have 2.79 installed but I believe you have to click on the cube object icon in order to see the object nodes.
