I am using OctaneRender with Blender. As the documentation suggest, I did install the blender version for octane, and downloaded OctaneRender. However clicking on OctaneRender does nothing. It does not open, nor does it show up on the toolbar.

I enabled the addon within Blender. Even though it did show up in the renderer list, it does not work. Clicking on Device Preferences doesn't do anything either.

Hi,
I think you need a PR8 version, not yet available for Prime tier

In the meantime, we have published the first Standalone Octane X version on Apple App Store for Big Sur, compatible with M1 chip:

Afte download, please visit the following link to accept the software agreement, and to activate the free Prime license:
https://render.otoy.com/shop/primex.php

To test it, please install and open Standalone, right click anywhere in the node graph panel, and choose Materials/Metallic, to create the material node.
Now right click on the node and choose Render.

If you see the Material Ball scene, everything is working correctly.
Here you can find some simple example scenes:

Thanks bepeg4d.

So does this mean till I have PR8 I cannot use the Blender X Octane integration?

I am aware of the Mac App but I'm not sure if that can be used in tandem with Blender.

Yes, PR7 is not working with M1.
You should need to have Rosetta 2 installed, and PR8 versions of plugins.

ciao Beppe
