The imager is now fixed thanks but it still persists with EXR.

Also, this is still a problem after 2+ years. viewtopic.php?f=28&t=67947

I agree, this is why i have ditch octane for maya for octane standalone.
The Maya plugin is good, but only if you don't need to batch render.
Sometimes it work sometimes it don't , i don' t blame otoy at 100% on this cause i also had problem with maya batch render and mental ray in the past.

The best option either for Maya or Houdini would be to have a strong orbx exporter like arnold .ass and be able to batch directly the .orbx to standalone without using maya but only a batch manager like deadline.

But create a bulletproof full feature working exporter is a full time job in itself imo. so i don't blame jimStar for this.
Cheers

Guys if you have any issues with batch render - please, please post the scene, the mayaRenderLog.txt file, and the detailed step-by-step description of how to reproduce in Maya's "Bug reports" forum section. Unfortunately I can't pinpoint some fluctuating issue using just vague "it doesn't work" reports.

Batch render works without problems on our side (including interactive sequence rendering in Maya, implemented long time ago), so most of the time this could be some hardware issue: for example weak PSU, or the GPU got too hot from continuous sequence rendering and the rendering engine failed because of it...
I remember in a couple of previous Octane SDK releases there was a problem with rendering suddenly stopping in the middle of the frame, and the engine team fixed it few times after my reports - but looks like in current 2020.2.1 it doesn't stuck, at least in my tests...
But of course this could be a scene not properly set up for Octane batch - this is why the scene and the reproduce description would help a lot in finding your culprit.
