Hi Guys,

After I see a lot people asking me about, how I did the Hatching effect, add on the forum a while ago, I did a update and create with procedural nodes similar as the UberNoise of 3dsmax like the renders online with Arnold, so here a similar way I create with the nodes of octane not the best solution or optimized but does the job, but I guess can be interesting for somebody. I would say if somebody want to do a OSL node would be better I think could be cool.

If you use on your projects just an Thank you here would be Great or if just help you on something ( if you like of course haha)

Best,

JO

Wow! this is great tested with DAZ figure and it works very well. Good adjustments on the sliders to allow for thickness.

Great! well should work on anything really you may need adjust sizes, and also the falloff to look more like drawing the adjust the falloff direction to help out I was thinking to add a dirty node for the contact shadows but some cases is better without is more like mistake on drawing but if you want inside the group you can add on the end

As someone who uses Octane only inside C4D: any chance to get a C4D File of this?:)

Hi,
here is a c4doctane version of the Hatching Shader:

You need c4doctane 2020.2-RC6:
viewtopic.php?f=85&t=76633

Since it is pretty heavy to calculate for preview, to use it more easily, my suggestion is to go to Live View menu Options, and disable both materials, and OpenGL preview, and go to settings Nodes, and disable the Node preview option:

Happy Toon GPU rendering,
ciao Beppe

P.S. thanks JO for this fantastic shader :D
