Hi Paul,

today I spent about 2 hours to hunt down this bug which has been very annoying here since a few month.
I often get a cuda error like this:

"Error

Cuda Error Loading Scene: Tried to access pin via invalid Index 5 (this can be also any other number...)

tried to access null node pin
tried to access null node pin"

Often I get these Error messages like 6 times in a row with different numbers for the index.
As the error message does not give me any information which material is damaged, it is very hard to find the culprit(s) in a complex scene!
When I look at the material itself it is obvious that some nodes are void ( see attached picture )
nodemissing.jpg
I is possible that this is happening with materials I did with an earlier version ...

here is a video I did:

here is a zipfile with the scene and the textures:

please take a look at it and fix this... it is driving me nuts!

thanks

Andreas

ok now it gets really weird:

I was under the impression that the material is the culprit, but as it seems I was wrong.
I deleted the original material and replaced it with a default octane material... the same bug!

here is the scene:

it is something with that cube... but what?

just noticed: copy and pasting the thing to a new default rhino scene seems to cure it ...

Hi Andreas

I think I have resolved the crash problem (and I will post a release in the next 24 hrs). However the cube still does not render, and it appears to be something to do with the polygon/vertices (as per the other thread viewtopic.php?f=41&t=76363). I will await OTOY's comments on this problem.

Thanks

Release 2020.1.5.123 (see release thread) will hopefully resolve the crash issue.
