I am trying to run OctaneBench 2020.1.5 on my mac, but get this error:
Any ideas why? I am running Catalina 10.15.7
“OctaneBench 2020.1.5.app” is damaged and can’t be opened

Hi,
OctaneBench 2020.1.5 is designed to work with CUDA, so you need a Mac with Nvidia GPU, and Mac Os X High Sierra 10.13.6, with updated CUDA driver and Nvidia GPU driver.
OctaneBench for OctaneX that works under Catalina or Big Sur with AMD GPUs has not been released yet.
ciao Beppe

ah I see, thanks for confirming. my Macbook 2019 has 'AMD Radeon Pro 5300M' - Is there a way to look up what the scores would be?bepeg4d wrote:Hi,

Not at the moment, sorry.

I get this same message, though I'm running High Sierra and have x2 1080Ti connected via Thunderbolt 3… Might this be because the internal gpu is AMD, and my nVidia GPUs are external? I have all the Cuda and nVidia drivers running already for normal rendering.
Ok, please try these steps.
ciao Beppe
- locate the OctaneBench 2020.1.5.app, right click on it, and choose “Show Package Contents”:
- Navigate to Contents/MacOs/, open the Terminal.app, drag and drop “octane” into the Terminal window, and press ENTER:
