I'm wondering if there's a way (In Houdini, or even as a base Octane feature) to have objects *only* visible to primary camera rays.
There's currently the option to make objects invisible to the camera (aka "phantom", invisible to primary rays), or invisible to shadow rays (one specific form of secondary ray), but I can't see any way to make it invisible to secondary reflections/diffuse-bounces/etc.
For my purposes, just an equivalent of Houdini's "Visible only to primary rays" would be fine, but it'd be nice to have the options to switch each specific type of secondary ray visibility individually.

Hmm, nope, I'm afraid that Octane doesn't have this feature. I'm not sure if other users could have a workaround for that, but I can't figure out how to make the object invisible for the secondary rays. Sorry.

Ah, as I suspected.
One to put on the wishlist then! Would be really useful to have for some of the more technical Houdini effects work.
I'm new around here - is there an official channel for feature requests, or should I just post about it in the forums?
