Hello,
First thank's to read this message and sorry if it is allready answered somewhere
Here my config :
- Win 10 / GTX 3080 / 64Gb RAM
- C4d R21 / Nvidia Studio Driver 465.38 / Cuda 11 / Octane standalone 2020.1.5 / Octane C4d 2020.1.5 R3
The rendering freezes a the end of the first picture and never go to the next picture and never save the picture,
After houres of research, I descover that came from the usage of denoising.
If i not use the denoiser (uncheck in Octane Setting / Camera Imager / Denoiser + Setting / Device + Render Setting / Use denoise beauty pass)
All picture are rendering well.
Someone know why I can not use the denoiser,
I juste buy a new RTX3080 AND a new 2020 subscription to use this RTX and there is so many troubles.
You can find in attachement Device preferences, GPU info and Octane log, hoping that qomeone could help me
Thank you per advance
Octane 2020.1.5 can not use denoising with RTX 3080

Unfortunately v2020.1.5 SDK has been published before RTX 30X0 GPUs were available, so we have to wait for the next 2020.1.6 SDK update to have the first version supporting RTX 30X0 GPUs, I’m sorry.
The devs are working on it, please keep an eye on this section of the Otoy forum to stay in touch:

I'm looking forward to the release of this new version
instead of using Octane's denoiser (which freezes at high resolutions and not only) try to use the one included in the R21 which works well and never freezes. In "Render settings" go to "Effect" and then select "Denoiser"

Hi Bajac, may I know other than the Denoiser causing render issue, is there any other problem you facing when you using RTX 3080? Because I'm planning to get RTX3080 and I want to make sure if it's only Denoiser causing issue. Otherwise I might just wait for Otoy to fix the bugs.Bajac wrote:Hello,

Hi,
unfortunately, AI Denoiser cannot be active in the scene, or the render never stops, since it is not supported in 2020.1.5 SDK with RTX 30X0 GPUs, due to a CUDA limitation.
To solve the issue, the devs have released 2020.2-XB5 Standalone SDK, based on new CUDA 11.1, to have the first version supporting RTX 30X0 GPUs correctly.

2020.1.X SDK is based on CUDA 11, and cannot be rewritten from scratch, you need a version based on new 2020.2 SDK.
The devs are working on new plugins and demo versions based on 2020.2 SDK, and will be published as soon as possible.
Since it is a completely new version, it will need a little bit more time than an usual update.
In the meantime, if you need to render with AI Denoiser active, you should need to use c4doctane 2020.1.5-R4 to export your scene to Standalone 2020-XB5 in .orbx format and render from there.
ciao Beppe
