Hi everybody,
I have this problem with some of my renderings.... as you can see in the image attached, I get those blocks in some parts of the rendering. I'm using R23 with the latest version of octane 2020.1.5 R3, with 1x2080 ti (RTX active) + 1x1080 ti. Is this caused by different GPUs?
Thank you
Nik

Hi,
please share some screenshot from the kernel panel and Camera Imager, render Settings.
Are you using Net render?
Is the screenshot from Live View or Picture Viewer?
ciao Beppe

Hi,
thanks for sharing the screenshots.
I think that the issue is in the Devices settings, 1080Ti does not have the Tonemap active.
All the GPUs should always have the Tonemap active, unless they are connected to a very slow PCI bus, like 1x or 4x.
Also Priority is not set correctly. If a GPU is connected to monitor, the option must be enabled, and the Priority popup defines the portion of GPU power that is kept for handling system/monitor/OpenGL, LOW means roughly 10%, while HIGH means 0%.
About Use for Denoise, enable this option only for one GPU at a time, preferably a GPU not connected to monitor, or if connected, better to use the GPU connected with the monitor with lower resolution.

Ciao Beppe,
I've set the parameters as you told me (as the image attached), but the problem persist.
As you can see in the rendered image attached, the problem exists only on the yellow meterial/geometry, not in the blue material below. So I've discovered that is caused by the dirt node in the yellow material, I've attache the screenshot of the node editor, if that is disable the problem no longer happen.
Grazie

You are right! Without RTX enable the problem disappear!pxlntwrk wrote:Hi,

Hi guys,
sorry but I have just tried with 2020.1.5-R3, and the only difference that I can see, compared with 2020.1.4, is that now Dirt node is rock solid, also with Network rendering, and with RTX on, the render is faster, even with Dirt node active, but the result is the same
Do you mind to share an example scene that shows the issue?
ciao Beppe

I just sent you a simplified scene and some information via mpbepeg4d wrote:Hi guys,
