Hello guys,
I am in the middle of an automotive project and I am working with Cinema 4D and Octane.
During the process I realized there are a few things that could be improved or implemented for future versions.
-In the physical sun I have the ability to turn down the horizon. But I cannot turn it up. Sometimes you need a higher horizon but the slider and the values doesnt allow that.
-It would be very helpful to free rotate the HDRI domes. At the moment I am able to rotate it horizontally and vertically, but the vertical shift is hard to control, since it rotates around a certain axis. If I could freely rotate it in the viewport with the manipulator in all axises, I could get better control of the reflections I want to see in the product.
-the glass alpha is a huge problem. In most cars we have privacy glass in the rear windows, so the lookthrough is less transparent. But for the alpha channel it is irrelevant how dense the glasses are, the transparency remains the same. Normally, the lookthrough should be different when I look through two layers of normal glass, or one layer of normal glass and one layer of privacy glass, and two layers of privacy glass. It would be very helpful if the glass alpha would react more acurate.
-The region grab function is quite buggy. Sometimes, if I drag a region in the liveviewer, and I want to copy them to multiple rendersettings, the values change or in the worst case, the values will be filled in in one rendersetting, and if I switch to the next one and click on "grab from LV", nothing happens. So either I have to copy the values by hand, or drag a new region for every rendersetting, and the region is different for every rendersetting.
All my best
Torben
