Hi Guys,

I have a octane 4 license and wanted to see what my options were moving forward.

When trying to extend my license I get the option is attached on the image, essentially 199Euros for a year...

1) What subscription option am I getting by extending my license, Enterprise or Studio?

2) I guess depending on the answer, is there any point upgrading this license? or a new subscription would be the same..

3) Guessing there is no more paying per plugin anymore?

Thanks,
Cris

1) Enterprise

2) at 14.95/month for 2 year plan, its half the price of an ent sub so definitely the better value and I would not get an ent sub for nearly double

3) if you get 2020 perpetual (not best value TBH), your existing perpetual V4 plugins get upgraded too, otherwise no.

Thanks for your reply @Goldorak.

So what would be the more logical (cost effective) step forward for me if I want to continue using Octane with Houdini?

(I only have 1 GPU BTW)

Best,
Cris

The 1 or 2 year maintenance plan is still the cheapest option.

Thanks it's only giving me 1 year option for 199EURO.

I think I will just grab a monthly studio license, and If I like where it's going go for the full upgrade.

I can cancel the monthly sub whenever I like right? Is there any other major difference between studio and enterprise beside the 2 GPU limit?

Thanks!!!!!!!

You can cancel anytime, and the only other difference is offline mode.

Hello Goldorak,
I’m also trying to upgrade my legacy V4 perpetual Octane to the most recent version, just a couple questions:
1. If I purchased two years’ maintenance period for 349 euro, I would be able to use and upgrade to the newest version of Octane (Octane 2020, Octane 2021, etc…), right? And that "two years' period" is two years from the date I paid or some particular date?
2. If I wanted to use network rendering on another machine, would I still need to subscribe a enterprise render node? ( I heard the enterprise licence includes one slave node for free, not sure if that’s true)

Thank you!

1 - yes. But if you don’t renew, then it goes back to V4.

2. Yes, you need to rent another slave node for latest Octane 2020 Enterprise
