Hello,
I have a big Problem rendering a Fur Character with Feathers. I have created the Feathers with Ornatrix where you can set different UV projections for each Feather/Hair.
Now i need to use one UV set for the Feather Alpha and the other UVset for the overall Feather Color. But the Octane UV projection Node seem not to work. There is an option to choose a UV set. But it does not do anything.
Is this a known bug or do I need to do something special to make this work?
Different UV Sets

I think you need to export to Standalone, since C4D itself does not handle different UV sets.

Hi Beppe, thank you for the Reply. It is not possible to export to Standalone. It is a heavy Hairsimulation using Ornatrix Plugin. I dont understand what you mean with "C4D does not handle different UV sets". You can use different UV Tags. I do that very often. Also my setup works with Redshift. I have just spend the day with Transfering the Complete Project to Redshift. In Redshift you can just apply UVsets by Name. It will take the name of the UV-Tag. I wished Octane would be able to work like that as well.bepeg4d wrote:I think you need to export to Standalone, since C4D itself does not handle different UV sets.
ciao Beppe
As Beppe said, It just uses the latest UV tag, and overwrite previous tags's uv.
Actually the renderer has maximum 3-uv sets and plugin designed to work with one before this feature came up. And 2. and 3. sets are reserved for different usages.

Does that mean multiple UVs will not be supported? That would be sad.aoktar wrote:As Beppe said, It just uses the latest UV tag, and overwrite previous tags's uv.

Yes, additional sets are used for different areas.Holgar wrote:Does that mean multiple UVs will not be supported? That would be sad.aoktar wrote:As Beppe said, It just uses the latest UV tag, and overwrite previous tags's uv.

Hey guys,
Just trying to find out whether octane now supports multiple UV sets in Cinema 4d. Apparently Cinema 4D can now support multiple UVs, at least with Redshift (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXEF-yVYg5Q). I would love to know whether the functionality from that youtube link is available in Octane?
Cheers,

no sorry, c4doctane is still supporting only one UV set.
ciao,
Beppe
Octane has only 3 uvsets and I'm using the two for mograph/vertexmap simulations.KeeWe wrote:Are there any plans to implement this stuff? I ran into this issue at a previous project and it would be a massive time saver…
