Houdini 18, Octane IPR & Render Colors Don't Match

Hi all,

I have been trying to figure out what is going on and I am at a loss. Have a setup where I promoted Cd channel and when I render in the IPR I see the colors, but when rendering out the animation it does not show. When I render out a single frame, it shows but only when starting from frame 0 the setup remains black. Any ideas?

Answered my own question, after a lot of digging I had to throw down a clean node in order to get the geometry right. Apparently something was causing the texturing to break before it was generated on frame 0.

Perhaps the object has some kind of degenerated geo that was breaking the object updating. Usually, as a workaround, these kinds of problems can be resolved if you render the scene in full scene reload mode.

What’s strange is that did not work as I thought that could be it and tried it. Definitely an issue with the reloading geo because IPR would sometimes have to be reloaded to have the latest scene colors after playing the animation, especially from the beginning. It also has messed with the animation a bit and made the color information a bit glitchy, so the clean tag didn’t completely fix it but that may be my noise settings more than anything.
