Hello - please can you confirm if native C4D noise looping is supported?
Please see attached scene file for example, simple scene - 100 frames, 25f/sec, C4D noise mapped to diffuse node.
Setting the noise "Loop Period" to 4 seconds but does not loop. If I create a Standard C4D material, noise looping works as expected.
Any ideas?
Thanks

From what I can see, the lack of looping is related to the "Use OSL for C4D noise/gradient (Experimental)" option in Octane Settings/Settings/C4D Shaders. If you turn that off, it loops as expected.

Note that we don't claim our implementation pretty perfect to match the c4d noises. Seems like there's a missing brick. But we cannot fix it without break backward compatibility

Not a problem, I wanted to know if it was "end user error" or a "missing brick". Thanks for your time and love your work!aoktar wrote:Note that we don't claim our implementation pretty perfect to match the c4d noises. Seems like there's a missing brick. I am having the same problem and when I turn off "use osl for C4d noise gradient" my noise no longer works (of course) so is using a c4d noise through a bake texture no longer support looping? I am attaching the file, with the texture with the noise. Any one have a solve for this?
Thanks
Thanks
Why do you choose it? Best is to don't do thattimtadder wrote:I am having the same problem and when I turn off "use osl for C4d noise gradient" my noise no longer works (of course) so is using a c4d noise through a bake texture no longer support looping? I'd like to be able to use procedural noise to create a loop using the material, the way the material mixes on the geometry. The only way I can do that with the octane noise is to use the transform to control the animation which looks non organic and defeats the purpose of the noise? Is this impossible to do with octane? Easy to do with other render engines but I like Octane.
