stylized skin?

I'm starting to work more with stylized characters and I have been looking for some tutorials on how to do stylized skin in Octane for Maya. I'm not talking about the toon shader. I'm talking about trying to achieve skin like you might see in the recent "Scoob" movie or "Abominable" where it's not quite realistic but isn't a flat shader. I'm wondering if someone here knows of any tutorials --paid or free, that can help me out.
