Awesome! Gonna try this out now that the indie scene export restriction is lifted.

Hi,
is it normal for a specific scene to render slightly slower with RTX enabled?
4X 2080TI

the octane bench does run faster with RTX so was wondering if it's a plugin issue. Haven't had time to thoroughly test this.
Thanks

Thanks for the update!!!

Is there any news on the new universal camera? I am craving that after playing with it in cinema. Appreciate all the hard work and updates.

It is weird, but perhaps it is possible for some kind of scenes if they have the motion blur enabled or things like that. As far as I know, the RTX feature is working fine in the Houdini plugin.

Thanks,

The OSL camera node is already available. About the universal camera, we are still waiting for the updates in the Octane SDK that should help to include it in some plugins, like the Houdini one, without hardcoding all the node logic, GUI, etc. This Octane node is not a conventional node like all the other cameras. It is a scripted node graph, that doesn't match with the plugin internal logic to manage the VOP nodes. I hope to know more about it soon.

Thanks for your patience,
-Juanjo

You have some information about the OSL camera in the Octane OSL docs:
