Hi,

It looks like Spectron Light "Barn doors" are not really considered by light itself so even if i close the Barn doors (-0.5) Light spot still shines through it likee it's not there?

Check the screengrab.

Thanks

What kernel are you using? I'm not sure if the volumetric shadows are supported by all the kernels.

Thanks,

Hey Lewis,

I think that the problem is that you need to enable the "Shape Cast Shadows" in the light.

Thanks,
-Juanjo

Aha, you are right, that solves it nicely. Thanks.

BTW i noticed now when you mentioned it that every new created light in Octane LW has that cast shadow OFF? Why ?
Shouldn't it be better that this option is ON by default.
I think that in 99% situations people want shadows from lights to be visible and in 1% when "faking" some stuff then it is useful to have it off :).

I mean if Transparent emission is ON by default Shadows should be too.

Can you please make shadows on as default ON also?

Thanks

Yes, it makes sense. I've updated the code to have the "Shape Cast Shadows" option enabled by default.

Thanks,
