I had Octane v4 up and running on my master and slave for about 2 weeks. Suddenly, the slave disappeared. I did troubleshooting myself, and with help from our IT Admin, but we couldn't figure it out. I also tried switching to v2018 to see if the network aspect had changed. No difference.

Then suddenly it appeared again. It worked for a couple of days, then disappeared. I read that Anti-Virus software can sometimes analyze something and determine it to be a threat and block it. So on a whim, I turned off Malwarebytes. My slave immediately appeared.

I turned back on Malwarebytes. Things were fine for a few hours, but then the slave disappeared. I turned off Malwarebytes Web Protection by itself this time (first of four options), and the slave immediately appeared.

Now I'm testing out whether I can exclude Octane. I tried excluding the app for Octane and C4D, but the slave still got blocked. So now I am trying to exclude the folders of C4D and Octane and will see what happens. I'm doing all of this on the master machine.

Update: Excluding the exe or the entire folder did no good, and I had to turn off the Web Protection module. I have reached out to Malwarebytes about this. These posts are mainly for information for other users.
