Hi guys ,
i would like to be sure that the info of the doc are still accurate about rendering Xgen hair with Octane 2020 for Maya ?
https://docs.otoy.com/MayaH/MayaPluginM ... light=xgen
Octane for Maya still doesn' t support xgen natively ? we still need to convert xGen to nHair to make it works ?
I am talking about the Octane For Maya plugin not Octane standalone:

Xgen Support in Octane 2020 ?

Hi Fantome,
Thank you for the post.
Yep, Octane for Maya plugin supports Xgen's Interactive Groom Splines since a while ago.
The workflow to Primitives (Splines and Groomable Splines) can be converted to Interactive Groom as well except for the Custom geo, Spheres (Scatter), and Cards are yet to be supported.
cheers

Thank you for pointing this page out.
It definitely needs an update as the workflow is showing here is the workaround using animwire to render Xgen. Sorry for this.
We have sent a request to our Docs team to help update the resources.
The Official video was also recorded during OctaneRender 2018 as well.
We would add the Xgen and Ornatrix workflow in a few day's time but the Xgen workflow is extremely straight forward.
All we need is to grab/select the Interactive Groom node from the outliner and then apply Octane Material or the hair material.
For the underlying Mesh's texture, we can reuse the same material on the fur/hair or create a new one.
Thank you again!!
Cheers

I have understood it and tried it out.
Because I am new to XGEN, I want to ask,
If I use a picture to create, is there a way to come out through OCTANE RENDER?
I have searched for relevant teaching, but I have not found a way
Thanks again for your reply
Thanks for attaching the screenshots.
Unfortunately, the Xgen Description are yet to support directly.
Please use Convert to Interactive Groom from the Generate menu as a workaround. cheers
