Hi
What's the current best practice for using ies lights with Octane 2020.1 RC2?
Currently seems to be 2 methods.
1) "create-lights-octane-ies light", then select ies file
this seems to make more noise than making a standard octane light and adding ies file to the distribution map
2) "create - lights - octane", then add ies file to the distribution map
Method 2 is making less noise than method 1 even with the same ies file. So the Octane ies light feature is worse than adding an ies map to a standard Octane light.
Also, the super duper "vectron geo" tickbox is greyed out in method 2 and not an option anywhere in option 1.
Is it possible to use an ies map with a vectron light and would it be any quicker?
Or is there a more recent RTX vectron miracle 3rd method of creating ies lights I've missed?
Thanks

Hi Rik,
I don't think OctaneIESlight makes more noise then OctaneLight (using same .IES), but I'm testing that to be sure.
Said that .IES works better using a plane then a sphere.
Spectron works fine with .IES in SA, so I sent a report to devs to fix the issue.
